Las organizaciones seculares mantienen la postura de que los estándares de moralidad deberían estar basados únicamente en lo que concierne al bien de la humanidad en el tiempo actual sin referencias a seres o conceptos sobrenaturales como dios o una vida después de la muerte.

Las personas seculares y sus organizaciones, se identifican a sí mismos en una variedad de términos, lo que incluye agnósticos, laicos, ateos, miembros del movimiento brights, librepensadores, humanistas, no teístas, naturalistas, racionalistas y escépticos^[1]^[2]

A pesar del uso de varios términos, las organizaciones listadas aquí tienen objetivos comunes.
