Copestylum

Copestylum es uno de los géneros más numerosos de sirfidos en las Américas.[2] Comprende más de 300 especies,[3] de las cuales solo cuatro se han encontrado fuera de las Américas, y probablemente han sido introducidas dentro de cactus.

Miden de 6 a 16 mm. Las antenas de este género y otros géneros relacionados tienen aristas plumosas. Las larvas se alimentan de material en descomposición como troncos de bananas o cactos podridos.
