Recent changes

• The Wikisources use a tool called ProofreadPage. ProofreadPage uses OpenSeadragon which is an open source tool. The OpenSeadragon JavaScript API has been significantly re-written to support dynamically loading images. The functionality provided by the older version of the API should still work but it is no longer supported. User scripts and gadgets should migrate over to the newer version of the API. The functionality provided by the newer version of the API is documented on MediaWiki. [1][2]

Changes later this week

• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 6 December. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 7 December. It will be on all wikis from 8 December (calendar).

Actuar burocráticamente en vez de investigar la veracidad del contenido

Hace unos años, cuando Wikipedia permitía la publicación directa de artículos por parte de su autor, publiqué el artículo Amir Valle. Ya desde entonces existían numerosas fuentes en internet, revistas, mundo editorial, universidades, etc, además de una obra publicada en las más grandes editoriales en la lengua española y traducida a varios idiomas, que probaban la validez de mi obra y mi aporte a la literatura latinoamericana y en lengua española. No tenía entonces, ni ahora, interés en autopromocionarme (pues para eso hay una agencia literaria que se encarga de mi obra). Ahora, he intentado, desde mi usuario en Wikipedia, colaborar con un artículo sobre un importante escritor que no tiene aún artículo en Wikipedia (creo muy necesaria su presencia en Wikipedia) y los bibliotecarios deciden que ambos artículos deben ser borrados. Creo que para el buen trabajo de Wikipedia es más importante que el bibliotecario verifique la información del artículo (en este caso es fácil porque hay cientos de miles de artículos en internet sobre mi obra literaria) en vez de limitarse al proceso burocrático de que un artículo no debe ser publicado por su autor. En el caso de la literatura hay muchísimos autores que no cuentan con artículos en Wikipedia por esa razón y eso hace que Wikipedia esté limitada en la información que está brindando. Creo que xisten muchos modos, muy sencillos con las tecnologías actuales, de comprobar la veracidad de un artículo, lo escriba quien lo escriba. He reclamado a los bibliotecarios, pero por las respuestas que hasta ahora han dado, tengo dudas de que escuchen las razones que he dado tanto para mi artículo como para el artículo del escritor Miguel Ángel Fraga Castillo.     • Getting a link to the query is now possible in the same place as getting a link to the result of the query (phab:T324218)
    • Removed the gif that showed on hover over the button that advertises the Query Builder to make it less annoying (phab:T296135)
    • Added wikibase:identifiers to the autocomplete feature (phab:T302057)
    • Adjusted the layout of the Query Builder header to be more in line with other application (phab:T288939)

Recent changes

• An A/B test has begun at 15 Wikipedias for DiscussionTools on mobile. Half of the editors on the mobile web site will have access to the Responder tool and other features. [3]
• The character = cannot be used in new usernames, to make usernames work better with templates. Existing usernames are not affected. [4]

Changes later this week

• The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 13 December. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 14 December. It will be on all wikis from 15 December (calendar).
• The HTML markup used by DiscussionTools to show discussion metadata below section headings will be inserted after these headings, not inside of them. This change improves the accessibility of discussion pages for screen reader software. [5]

No puedo eliminar una categoría de un artículo

Hola, estaba yo creando algunas páginas y me acabo de dar cuenta de que en las categorías aparece, por algún motivo, una categoría que no he añadido en editar código y que no aparece en este modo de edición. Por ejemplo, se puede ver en este artículo, donde se puede ver la categoría «Cuadros del "Ukiyo-e"», y otra que es igual sin las comillas (esa sería la correcta). No me deja quitarlo porque no me sale ni en la edición de código ni en la visual. He revisado desde el móvil y me aparece lo mismo. ¿Alguna solución? Por si es importante, uso Google Chrome (me parece que desactualizado) desde Linux y la interfaz nueva de Wikipedia. Muchas gracias, -- Anidae (discusión) 00:05 13 dic 2022 (UTC)

@Anidae, esta caso se produce por la categorización automática de la plantilla {{Ficha de pintura}}, que no reconoce las cursivas del parámetro |estilo=. Puedes resolverlo así, por medio del parámetro |categoría estilo=. -- Leoncastro (discusión) 00:30 13 dic 2022 (UTC)

  • The French Wikipedia now uses a Wikidata-based list for the pages on specific dates, without relying on ListeriaBot. Who was born on a December 19th and has an article in French? You now can have the answer thanks to a Wikidata query by going to the page 1er décembre on frwiki and clicking on the infobox link "Naissances du jour". This is a link to a Wikidata list provided by the query service. The query is generated by the template fr:Modèle:Naissances un jour du mois. This follows another such template used to find all persons with a certain surname on frwiki, used on all surnames pages and on some disambiguation pages, fr:Modèle:Liste des personnes ou_personnages par prénom. For the surname Victor (Q539581) (view with Reasonator, SQID) this generates on the page w:fr:Victor_(prénom) a query such as this one.
  • Wikidata now has more than 100,000,000 items! Exactly which item was the 100 millionth is unknown as of writing, but there are some clues for anyone who wants to dig into it.

• Development
  • REST API: We are getting ready for a release in January and would really love more people to test the current state on beta. You can find details for testing at Wikidata:REST API feedback round.
  • Vector 2022 search: We have worked on making the new search in the Vector 2022 skin work for Wikidata. You can now test it on test.wikidata.org and soon on Wikidata.
  • Query Service:
    • Removed the SVG download options for result views where SVG downloads are not supported, such as Map (phab:T311594)
    • Fixed the indentation of autocompletion suggestions (phab:T291695)
    • Fixed downloading query results in the Query Builder (phab:T323451)
  • Lexicographical data:
    • Working on showing the Lexeme lemmas when you look at a Lexeme’s history (phab:T312660)
    • Fixing a keyboard navigation issue in the lookups on Special:NewLexeme (phab:T324743)
  • mul language code:
    • Continuing to investigate how to implement language fallbacks on mobile termbox (phab:T323098)

Noticias Técnicas

• Debido a las fiestas de final de año, la próxima entrega de las Noticias Técnicas será enviada el 9 de enero de 2023.

Cambios recientes

• En la página de contribuciones de usuarios, puedes filtrar las ediciones por una etiqueta, por ejemplo revertido. Ahora, puedes filtrar por todas las ediciones que no poseen una determinada etiqueta. Este desarrollo es parte de la Lista de Deseos Técnicos de la Comunidad 2022. [6]
• Se ha utilizado una nueva función para que los desarrolladores de gadgets agreguen contenido debajo del título en las páginas del artículo. Esto se considera una API estable que debería funcionar en todas las pieles (skins). Aquí se encuentra la documentación. [7]
• Una de nuestras wikis de pruebas está siendo ejecutada desde una nueva infraestructura manejada por Kubernetes (lee más). Más wikis serán movidas a esta nueva infraestructura a contar de inicios de 2023. Haz pruebas y comentanos de cualquier problemas que encuentres. [8]

Problemas

• Durante la semana pasada, todas las wikis no pudieron ser editadas por 9 minutos. Esto ocurrió debido a un problema en la base de datos. [9]

Cambios de esta semana

• No hay versión nueva de MediaWiki esta semana.
• La palabra "Responder" es muy corta en algunos idiomas, como el árabe ("ردّ"). Esto hace que el botón Herramientas de discusión de las páginas de discusiones sea difícil de usar. Se añadirá un ícono de una flecha para esos idiomas. Esto será visible solamente para las personas que han habilitado esta característica Beta. [10] [11]

Cambios futuros

• Las ediciones pueden ser automáticamente "etiquetadas" por el sistema base o el sistema de Administración del filtro antiabusos. Esas etiquetas enlazan a una página de ayuda que describen las etiquetas. Próximamente se añadirá un enlace a Cambios Recientes para ver más ediciones que han sido etiquetadas de esta manera. Esto fue una solicitud de la Lista de Deseos Técnicos de la Comunidad 2022. [12]
• El equipo de herramientas del equipo de Trust & Safety ha compartido un nuevo plan para desarrollar un sistema privado de reporte de incidentes (en inglés Private Incident Reporting System). El sistema debería facilitar a las personas pedir ayuda si presenta un caso de acoso o abuso.
• La previsualización en tiempo real para Wikitexto saldrá de su versión beta para estar habilitada para todas las personas que usan el editor de wikitexto de 2010 durante la semana del 9 de enero de 2023. Se encontrará disponible para ser usado en la barra de herramientas del editor. Esta función fue el cuarto deseo más popular de la Lista de Deseos Técnicos de la Comunidad 2021.

• Puedes registrarte para la Wikimedia Hacakthon 2023, que se llevará a cabo entre el 19 y 21 de mayo en Atenas, Grecia. Puedes postular por una subvención de participación hasta el 14 de enero.

Tamaño de imagen de ficha sin especificar, pero molestando

Veamos. Hace más de un año pareció alcanzarse un consenso para que las imágenes de las fichas tuvieron como norma general (por defecto) un ancho común y parece que se determinó que lo conveniente sería que... aquellas ocuparan el ancho de la ficha. Después de un tiempo, parece que se arregló el estilo para que esto se hiciera automáticamente. Sin embargo, en casos como el que sigue, cuando no se rellena el parámetro |tamaño_foto pero sí se deja su nombre en el código, parece que el estilo no hace efecto. He descubierto empíricamente que esto se corrige... blanqueando el parámetro sin información. Entonces me pregunto si para corregir esto en masa convendría:

1) cambiar 'algo' para que a las fichas les dé igual el que un parámetro vacío esté incluido o no en el código del artículo (desconozco si es sencillo).

2) eliminar en masa con bot estos parámetros vacíos.

@Strakhov, espero que no te moleste que te deshiciera para poder hacer pruebas. Si se fuerza un tamaño menor, el límite máximo no sirve; del mismo modo que si se importa la imagen desde Wikidata también hay que indicarle un tamaño, o por defecto usa el tamaño predefinido por el sistema. Por cierto, el problema realmente está aquí, que cuando no se indica ningún tamaño se establece por defecto un tamaño menor al ancho de la ficha, con lo que el límite máximo deja de funcionar. A ver si algún bibliotecario nos ayuda. -- Leoncastro (discusión) 14:15 25 dic 2022 (UTC)
