Ediciones arbitrarias

editar

Hola, Ringer. Gracias. --Technopat (discusión) 06:22 10 jul 2011 (UTC)Responder

Hola y... contesto

Greetings Ringer. Gracias por tu nota. I'm afraid that I really dislike translating, probably because I'm not very good at it, so I hope you don't mind if I leave you a link to Google Translate which should give you a decent working document. Just the other day I cleaned up the article Servicios de traducción automática and you'll find some useful links there with which to compare versions of the translated text. Sorry for not being more cooperative, but I really am averse to doing translations. Cheers! --Technopat (discusión) 14:35 31 jul 2012 (UTC)Responder

Another working translation

editar

Greetings Ringer. XanaG asked me to revise her translation and rather than take up further space over at the workshop, I'm pasting my version here:

In Nueva Cáceres y Casa Colegio Santa Isabel on 19th September, 1898, and as recorded by this present document, at ten o'clock in the morning of said day, a letter was received, signed by Mr. José Ansón, on behalf of the Governor and Spanish colony, and addressed to Mr. Elías Ángeles.

Said letter requested Mr. Ángeles to express himself regarding his position at that time, informing him that both the Governor and all the Spaniards were determined to carry out any amount of negotiations within the Law.

The reply of Mr. Ángeles to said letter stated that, in accordance with his Chiefs and Companions, if all the Gentleman were willing to surrender their Arms, the matter should be resolved without Harm or Damage whatsoever to any body and respecting all due considerations.

Said letter was replied to by Mr Anson, on behalf of the Spanish Gentlemen, to the effect that, trusting his Word of Honour, the former reply had been received with great pleasure and that they would guarantee to honour further verbal conditions under the same terms. To that effect, they therefore requested a time and place at which to parlay and establish the terms of an amicable settlement. (…) He also stated that said Gentlemen desired only to be permitted to leave and that they had no inconvenience in surrendering all their Arms in the manner and place agreed to at the conference. He added that the Governor gave his word of honour and begged that, in His name and that of All, there be no further needless bloodshed and that they awaited a prompt and satisfactory reply.

Following the above, a meeting was arranged for two in the afternoon at the girls school, at which Mr. José Ansón and Mr. José Ramón López, duly authorized by the Governor, were introduced to the revolutionary Board chaired by Mr. Ángeles. Mr López took the floor stating that all the Gentlemen were willing to surrender their Arms and Ammunition on the condition that their Lives and Belongings be spared and that they be aided in leaving the territory, begging in the name of humaneness that there be no further bloodshed. Following a brief deliberation, the Gentlemen of the Board agreed to all the Terms in full, as expressed by Mr. López, proceeding to the immediate surrender of the Arms, which could not be made in full due to the lateness of the hour, the remainder, consisting of thirty-one rifles and their Ammunition, to be handed over at eight o’clock the following morning, the 20th.

Thus ended the event, and this record is signed in duplicate by the Gentlemen present as certified by myself, the Secretary.

As I pointed out, I am not a translator, but between the two versions, you should be able to get something acceptable. Saludos, --Technopat (discusión) 09:57 11 ago 2012 (UTC)Responder
