• PhotoNearby.js - a user script that checks Wikimedia Commons for a nearby photo if no image (P18) statement and has coordinate location (P625). Displays above the Statements heading. Defaults to a 500 meter radius. Displays a link to WikiShootMe.

• As part of an effort to benchmark open source SPARQL engines on Wikidata, the page Wikidata:Scaling Wikidata/Benchmarking/Existing Benchmarks contains some initial results and analyses of benchmarking Blazegraph, MilleniumDB, QLever, and Virtuoso on several existing SPARQL query benchmarks for Wikidata. There are some surprising results there, particularly related to different answers produced by different engines. • Para desarrolladores que utilizan el volcado de historial de MediaWiki: El equipo de Plataforma de Ingeniería de Datos ha añadido nuevos campos a estos volcados para respaldar la iniciativa de cuentas temporales. Si tu software procesa estos volcados, te recomendamos revisar tu código y la documentación actualizada, ya que el orden de los campos en cada registro podría variar. Hola, traté de arreglar la plantilla para que Categoría:Balonmano en España en 2025 se ubicara en Categoría:Deporte en España en 2025 en vez de Categoría:España en 2025, pero no funcionó. Creo que hay que modificar Plantilla:Categoría por año y/o Plantilla:Categoría por fecha (núcleo). ¿Alguien lo puede hacer? Muchas gracias -- NaBUru38 (discusión) 16:26 29 ene 2025 (UTC)

¡Hola Leoncastro! Ahí pusiste la categoría que decía, pero no desaparece la Categoría:España en 2025. Lo mismo con Categoría:Álbumes de España de 2025, que aparee en Categoría:Música en España en 2025 pero también en Categoría:España en 2025. --NaBUru38 (discusión) 23:59 1 feb 2025 (UTC)

@NaBUru38, por eso pregunto si sirve sin quitar la categoría de país/año, como ya se hace en otros casos. En ese nuevo ejemplo que mencionas de álbumes y música, la categoría específica de Música/país/año se ha introducido manualmente, mientras que la de país/año se agrega automáticamente por la plantilla {{categoría por año}}, como el caso anterior. -- Leoncastro (discusión) 12:31 2 feb 2025 (UTC)

Traslado de archivos de discusiones

Hola. Cuando alguien traslada un artículo para renombrarlo, en la ventana emergente aparece la opción “Renombrar la página de discusión asociada” en el caso de que tal página de discusión exista. Lógicamente, lo habitual es marcar esta opción para no dejar la página de discusión desenlazada del artículo correspondiente. Pero he aquí que si la página de discusión se hizo muy larga y alguien realizó uno o varios archivos de la misma, las páginas de esos archivos no son renombradas por el traslado. Ya me ha pasado varias veces encontrarme con páginas de discusión que anuncian archivos pero los enlaces figuran en color rojo, lo cual obliga a “ir a buscar” el archivo en el nombre anterior que tuvo el artículo (y en alguna ocasión buscando entre varios nombres anteriores del artículo) para recomponer el asunto. Me pregunto si la herramienta de traslado no podría ser modificada para que compruebe automáticamente la existencia de archivos cuando tiene que renombrar una página de discusión. Saludos. @J.M.Domingo, posiblemente lo que comentas sea algo que se pueda desarrollar. Si no me equivoco creo que el sistema ya lo hace con las subpáginas de usuario durante el proceso de cambio de nombre de usuarios. Sin embargo el diseño de esa función corresponde únicamente a los programadores del sistema, por lo que en todo caso tendrías que realizar la petición en Phabricator. -- Leoncastro (discusión) 12:39 2 feb 2025 (UTC)

• We (Peter F. Patel-Schneider and Egezort) want to run a course on the Wikidata Ontology for a limited number of participants. Designed for those already familiar with Wikidata, it will present information about ontologies and how they form the core of Wikidata, incorporating several exercises on analyses of and fixes to the Wikidata ontology. Upon successful completion (ending with a group project in consultation by us), participants will receive certificates. Please give feedback and suggestions to improve the structure and course content (found in more detail at WikiProject:Ontology Course) which will be incorporated into our Wikimedia rapid grant application to support the effort. Interested in helping or want to share your thoughts? Let us know.
• Several database changes will impact Wikidata in the coming months, including the migration of the term store (wbt_ tables) to a dedicated cluster to improve performance and enable future growth. This move will speed up most Wikidata SQL queries but prevent direct joins between term store data and other Wikidata tables. Additionally, the wb_type table will be removed, with its mapping hardcoded in Wikibase, simplifying the codebase. More details.

• Sitelinks: Fixed a bug that prevented linking Wikidata Items from Wikipedias (phab:T385261)

Actualizaciones para editores

• Los editores que usan la barra de herramientas "Caracteres especiales" ahora podrán ver los 32 caracteres especiales que han usado recientemente en esa wiki. Este cambio facilita encontrar los caracteres que usas con más frecuencia. Esta característica está disponible en los editores de wikitexto 2010 y en el Editor Visual. [5]
• Los editores que están usando el editor de wikitexto 2010 ahora pueden crear sublistas con la identación correcta al seleccionar las líneas que desean identar y presionando los botones de la barra de herramientas.[6] Puedes insertar las etiquetas <code> usando un nuevo botón en la barra.[7] Agradecimientos al usuario stjn por estas mejoras.
